times are a changing…

No, this is not about politics.

Patagonia, (if you don’t know already, I am huge a fan of this company, brand, corporate philosophy, vision…) has just launched TIN SHED. This larger format and interactive-type navigation is truly awesome.

In Patagonia’s words:

“TIN SHED…… once was home to the whole company, when we were a small band of friends who made great climbing gear, guaranteed. Yvon Chouinard, Patagonia’s founder, forged his pitons in here. The rest of us drilled hexes, assembled ice axes, or inspected rope (or slacked off when the surf was up).

I am loving this larger format, bigger presentation (slightly interactive), not unlike the New York Times, Olympic Presentation, Garden and Gun Magazine (via APE – as always, nice interview Rob), Wall Street Journal’s Photo Journal, etc, etc. I am SUPER excited about this new trend. It will be interesting to see what happens to some of the dinosaurs of print publications and how they cope with some of the new online trends.

Right now, I am getting another cup of coffee and going back to the TIN SHED. Have a great weekend.
