Why I wrote a Lifestyle Photography eBook

Most of you know this already, but some of you don’t. I wrote a Lifestyle Photography eBook full of Lifestyle Photography tips and tricks. I am also adding video content to help people understand and learn Lifestyle Photography. All of this content is at a separate website called: The Lifestyle Shooter.

I decided to write this eBook for a variety of reasons.

  1. I have a pretty lucrative business based on shooting Lifestyle images and video and I want to share some of my knowledge with emerging photographers and clients.
  2. It is frustrating for me to see people marketing great products and services using mediocre images.
  3. It is tiresome to see talented photographers and videographers not earning to the degree that they should be earning.

Check out The Lifestyle Shooter.

RED Epic – movie and accelerated post production

I did not attend NAB, but wish I had, just to see the RED Epic. See a short movie that you can download from the RED site directly, directed by Bill Paxton called Tattoo.

There is some interesting reading on the post-production workflow which I know my post-production collaborators are going to enjoy reading. In some ways it is incredible, but in some ways it is kinda expected. The pace at which the technology is evolving, there is no reason not to have fast turnaround with quality too. Read Michael Cioni’s detailed article on the accelerated post production for this.
